Why this example is worth doing

The side-by-side that the whole page exists for. IEEE 91-1984 draws AND as a D-shape; IEC 60617-12 draws a plain rectangle with the qualifying symbol & inside. Neither is more correct, but they are regionally sorted — distinctive shapes dominate US and UK teaching, rectangles dominate continental Europe and much of Asia — and a student who submits the wrong set loses marks. This example is the argument for the site-wide toggle being a persistent preference rather than a per-page control.
